Killer style sir, gritty and unsettling... I love it.

Not the usual, tired looking zombies I see floating around.

The great thing about ZBrush is that it allows me to 'sculpt' each head as a separate element and then to put them all together, pose them and play with compositional ideas quite freely and easily; the forward thrust of the lead zombie is a result of that.

The lack of lips, the hole in the skull and the semi-rotten skin aside...
I'm not going to bite the bait and expound on your good bone structure - not even ruddy Marilyn Monroe as a zombie would make me do that.

Ya wanna hear something just the least bit strange..?
I actually don't care much for zombies, or movies about them.
On the other hand I fucking LOVE:love: The Perambulating Deceased.  Haven't missed an episode and, as long as they are wise enough to keep Rick, Daryl and Michonne alive, I never will.

Excellent artwork, btw

Almost the opposite with me...I do love a good zombie flick and I gave up on Walking Dead halfway through season two. I've seen the odd episode from later seasons (that everyone tells me are brilliant) but any story that extends into more than two seasons just descends into soap opera: who's fucking who, 'personal' issues, politics, etc. etc. the same old tropes.

I'm not gonna try to talk you in or out of anything, but my personal belief is that you are missing out on some pretty epic television.  All else being equal, however, it is just as well, because if we all had the same tastes, there would be three songs, two movies and just about ten books for all of us to share.  And don't even get me started on visual art.

I completely agree with you about the sharing same tastes thing and I try never to criticise things just because they don'tfall into MY taste category. I love neat, concise storytelling, always have, so have never watched any of the great, sprawling TV shows that seem so popular these days.
As cinema descends further into an endless cycle of bland reboots, re imaginings, sequels and prequels TV has become the new king of quality entertainment. What I'd love to see is a return to the TV mini series so popular in the 80's. In those you have the best of both worlds; the ability to tell complex, character driven stories that also have a clear direction and conclusion.

Didn't know you were old enough to remember the golden age of mini-series.  Rich Man, Poor Man.  First one I ever saw; first time I saw Nick Nolte.  Read the   book, as a consequence.  What was it, Richard Chamberlain was in a half dozen of them, back before anyone knew he was gay and all those middle-age housewives were madly in love with him.

I can sorta dig where you're coming from.  I have a buddy who won't watch ANYthing episodic, because he says he always loses interest long before they get to anything like a conclusion.  For me, it's sort of a double edged sword kinda thing.  I don't mind putting in the time, but I want a pay-off.  I remember when LOST was on.  I watched like the first 2.5 seasons, when I realized that they were just gonna keep changing the rules of engagement every other show and that the only pay-off I could probably look forward to was mass confusion.  So, I pulled the plug.  I'm into several long-term shows right now, in fact, but of the five or six that I am currently watching, there are no fewer than three each that I tried for an episode or two [or, as in the case of a couple of Marvel Comics inspired shows, a half dozen and more], only to decide they weren't gonna be worth the effort.  Otherwise, it's Sit Coms and shit on the Discovery type channels.

And, of course, movies and books.  Which, come to think of it, I am currently in the middle of three long-term book projects.  Two trilogys and one that is getting ready to go into a sixth book, so... maybe I'm an addict.

Ah yes BOOKS…the 'box set' for the over 40's. I've been an avid reader all my life and I'm pleased to say I've passed my love on to my son. However he seems to be a minority in his generation for whom games, TV and watching movies on their phones has replaced reading….very sad!

Richard Chamberlain's gay????….but yeah…now you mention him I do recall him being in EVERYTHING!!!

No kids of my own, but my wife and I try to infect as many youngsters as we can and I'm proud to say that we have two nieces who are avid readers [one of whom is a Science teacher now] and are in the process of creating at least two more - one grand niece and one grand nephew.

I totally grok what you mean about the majority though.  If it doesn't pop up on their phone, unlikely they will even know it exists.  We can only hope, I guess, but it is a fleeting one at times.

Only seen a few snippets from Z Nation....zombies are pretty popular at the moment it seems.

hard to say how long I took with this as the three heads were noodle doodles I had kicking around for a while that I dusted off and put together for this piece. But to do a piece like this from start to finish would take me three to five days...I'm still very slow with my 2D stuff as I play around a lot, experiment, change my mind etc etc. but I'm working on speeding the work flow up as I'd like to do more of this and less make up effects work.

My son and I are always on the lookout for 'zombie proof' houses….just for fun I should add!

And yes…many people would like to see the zombie apocalypse take place…..or alien invasion….or plague of mutants…anything really. I think it's a yearning for a simpler world, all you have to do is worry about surviving day to day without all the stupidness of our modern, complex societies to deal with (like bills, and income tax and getting up every day for work and facebook and a zillion other silly things!). I know this because I'm one of them!!!
